RSVP Opportunities

Senior Wheels: Recruiting Drivers in all areas of the county. The idea is to help seniors who do not have transportation to run errands, go to the grocery store, see their doctor or visit the pharmacy.  You will be trained and using your own vehicle, make pick-ups in your area and deliver the rider to their destination(s), then take them home.  Generous mileage reimbursements are available. Also looking for 2 Dispatchers, one for Tuesday and one for Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. office is bright and cheery and climate controlled.

Commodity Box Distribution:  We are looking for willing volunteers to help pass out commodity boxes to seniors.  Some volunteers will handle paperwork and collect signatures, others will pick up boxes and place into vehicles.  Next distribution days are:  March 4,5 & 6. Please call if you are interested in helping in this area.

Franciscan Meals: 1) Drivers needed to deliver meals to shut-ins. Serve 1 to 2 times per month.  Average route is 1 to 1-1/2 hours. 

O'Neill Center Adult Day Care: Is looking for 2 volunteers, one to work on Tuesday and one to work on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Assisting staff, preparing drink cart, serving snacks and meals, tidy the kitchen, interact in an environment that gives seniors the support that keeps them living in their own homes.  See what a difference just three hours a week of your time can make.

Marietta Food Pantry: Looking for volunteers on Tuesday and/or Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  One person needed to cover intake desk receiving applications (no lifting).   Second position is data entry, also no lifting.

Boys & Girls Club:
Needs volunteers to spend an hour or two one day a week helping children with homework and listening to them read in the after-school program.
